Narrow path through dense green forest with ferns and trees

Right here with you.

Welcome Fellow Traveller! This Human experience can be a lot, right? There is more beauty and goodness in this world than can be witnessed in a single lifetime. But there’s also pain, violence, and heartbreak.

We’re not made to go it alone. Counselling, Dear One, is for humans. It’s for when the human experience inevitably goes sideways. It’s for when we don’t want the tough stuff to break us, or impair us from our full and joyful aliveness.

Nobody escapes the human journey without hardship, but together, we’ve got this. We all need support to get through and to thrive.

Let me walk with you.

How I can help

Maybe you’re a deeply caring, deeply feeling person…

And that’s really hard…with…well…the state of the world right now.

Maybe you try really hard but it’s like spinning your wheels in the mud - you’re not getting where you want despite all that effort.

Maybe you have ideas about what you’d like to do, but mysteriously, you seem to do things that create the opposite effect.

Maybe your inner critic has a megaphone, your inner perfectionist is too afraid of messing up to even get started, and there’s a people pleaser in there, too, that feels safer focusing on other’s needs than advocating for yours, and it’s so overwhelming it just shuts you down.

Maybe the ones who raised you didn’t have some key parenting skills - or they were actually frightening.

Maybe the world is - or has been - a scary place for you.

Perhaps you feel anxious or panicked despite no present evidence of threat; Your emotions or reactions don’t really match what’s happening in the here-and-now; You live with chronic hormone issues, GI troubles, unexplained pain or illness, fatigue, or burnout?

Maybe it’s all just a lot, right?

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a special interest in supporting those experiencing:

  • Symptoms of trauma, PTSD, and cPTSD

  • Anxiety, panic, depression, and burnout

  • Hormone/reproductive health issues, and/or chronic pain

  • Grief

  • Existential issues

You’re also in the right place if you’re:

  • Questioning your sexuality or gender identity

  • Exploring an ADHD/neurodivergent identity

  • Questioning your relationship with alcohol

I firmly believe that:

  • We all do the best we can with the tools and resources available to us in a given moment.

  • Any behaviour that seems troublesome now was once necessary for our survival or OK-ness; we can respect why the behaviour came to exist, even as we work to shift it.

  • All humans - at some point - experience suffering. All suffering beings deserve compassion.

The technical bits:

I am trauma-informed and work from the perspectives of Internal Family Systems, AEDP, Somatic psychotherapy, attachment theory, and polyvagal theory.

I am rooting for you.

Please know, regardless of whether we cross paths, there is someone in the world who is cheering you on and sending warmth and kindness your way.

We need a new paradigm that convincingly shows that humanity is inherently good and thoroughly interconnected. With that understanding, we can finally move from being ego-, family-, and ethno-centric, to species-, bio-, and planet-centric.
